Grant Application Deadline: May 1st
Bay Area Barns & Trails (BABT) spring Grant Program deadline is May 1. $2500 is our maximum standard grant with up to $5000 for projects with matching funds. Projects that meet BABT’s mission and serve the public in significant ways may be considered for larger grants.

Special Circumstances Grant
BABT is offering small grants to barns, or groups associated with barns, needing help during the current pandemic. We are offering these funds to those who need help keeping their current level of horses safe and fed. For the application and to learn more click here.

In addition to grants from BABT there are other opportunities to mitigate the impact of the Coronavirus on horse businesses. The federal government offers small businesses loans under the CARES Act that if used for payroll, rent, mortgage and/or utilities become outright grants, more info. CARES also includes longer term loans and $10,000 grants for small business impacted by the disaster,more infoAlthough as we write these programs have exhausted their funding, there are expectations that more funding will be passed soon, so watch the news for the latest developments. And unemployment benefits, over a longer period and for greater amounts than before, are available for the first time ever to include small businesses, the self-employed and independent contractors,more info.

Deadline for Submission EXTENDED – May 15, 2020

Due to the Covid-19 health crisis, WHOA! and the Mounted Patrol Foundation are extending the deadline for submission of the Equestrian Merit Scholarship Award application to May 15, 2020.

Not everyone has been able to submit on time and we would like to give as many the opportunity to apply as possible.

All those who have already applied may add to or edit their submission up until May 15.

Final decisions will be made by May 29, 2020.
