Event Overview
Established during our 15th anniversary event in 2019, the Woodside Art of the Horse features the original creative work of artists whose work celebrates the horse.

The Artists
This year, youth artists are welcome to participate!

How does it work?
Each year the format varies slightly with the goal of having an artist reception on the Friday of the Day of the Horse weekend. Details are provided on our website.

Purchase Youth Art Calendar 2023
$20 donation for one. $25 if mailed.
Pick up: at Carousel Saddlery (884 Portola Rd., Portola Valley 94028) or Olson Nolte Saddle Shop (1580 El Camino Real, San Carlos 94070). Please bring donation receipt.
Mailing: Indicate mailing address(s) on the donation form.

Can youth participate?
Absolutely! This year we will put on a youth event only. We encourage the next generation of horse lovers to share their artwork.
What are the details of participation?
Deadline for Submissions (It’s FREE to enter!):
Drop off artwork Wednesday and Thursday Oct. 5&6 from 3PM-6PM.
Framed pieces are appreciated but not obligatory.

Art Work Accepted:
Artwork must be the artist’s original design, and may be in is in a variety of mediums, such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pen and ink, graphic and charcoal, colored pencil, photography, sculpture, mixed media, miniatures, jewellery, and high quality crafts. No giclees or computer generated art will be accepted.
Copyright and Use Rights: Artists retain the copyright to their images. However, accepted images do become part of the WHOA! archives and may be used in future art promotions.

Who are the artists and what kind of art will be shown?
Local youth up to 18 years old
